mac-ro: [mak'-roh] adj.: referring to a type of photography that shoots subjects from a very close range.

We’re sending you out on a photographic scavenger hunt around Middletown. And here’s how it works.

Last week I traveled around Middletown taking photographs. But these aren’t just any photographs. These are extreme close-ups of various sites around town. My challenge to you is find the objects and have someone take a photograph of you at that location. For example, here’s one of the pictures I took:

Of course, if you knew where to find this close up around town, you could go to that place and ask someone to take a picture of you. In fact, the result might look something like this:

Starting Wednesday morning, and running until Monday, I will be posting macro close-ups each day. You find them around town and have someone take a picture of you beside them.

The person with the most points - i.e. the person in the most pictures in the right location - will win $20 Tuesday night at the Shore and Water’s Edge.

Now that you have the idea, here are the rules. And remember visit this page every day for new photos.

Official Rules:

All photographs were taken on public property in Middletown. You do not need to trespass in anyone’s yard or to find any of these things.
All photographs were taken outside.
All photographs were taken within Middletown city limits.
Submissions may be emailed to pastorbuhro+mm {at} gmail {dot} com. Obviously take out the spaces and replace the brackets with the right punctuation. If you take the pictures on your cameraphone, you may also send pix messages to this address. All entries must be submitted by 11:59 pm eastern daylight saving time on Monday, March 30.
Participants will earn 5 points for ever correct location they find and photograph. You can earn 10 points for every photograph submitted by 11:59 pm on the day the macro photograph appears on this site. For example, on Wednesday I will post a few pictures here. You have until Monday, March 30 to turn in your photos of those locations. But if you get the photo submitted by 11:59 pm Wednesday, you’ll earn a bonus 5 points.
The person who appears in the photograph earns the points, not the person who takes the photograph. The whole point of this activity is to get you to get someone else involved along with you!
Ties will be broken by an epic game of gorilla, human, rifle!
We reserve the right to disqualify any entries at our sole discretion for inappropriate content.
You must be present at the Shore or Water’s Edge Tuesday night, March 31st to win.
All entries become property of Water’s Edge and the Middletown Church of the Nazarene. We reserve the right to post submitted videos on the Internet or to use in other ways for promotional purposes.
