Morning and Evening: Sunday, March 1

Morning Study:
Text: Psalm 63
Questions:
(Are you ready for the first Sunday of Lent? Enjoy today. Sundays are feast days. Feast on God’s Word and worship today and celebrate with family and friends!)
- Read verse 1. The Psalmist says he earnestly seeks God before he says his soul longs and his body thirsts for God. How does earnestly seeking God increase your hunger for Him?
- Read verse two. In what ways have you seen God’s power and glory?
- How is God’s love better than life itself? Is that really true?
- How have you experienced God’s help?
- Are you ready to seek God in His sanctuary?
Prayer Focus: Spend time getting ready for worship this morning. Pray especially for Pastor Phil, that God would help him to speak what you need to hear today. And then be listening to see how that prayer is answered.
Evening Study:
Evening: Mark 2:18-22
Questions:
- Jesus says that his presence brings joy (verse 29). How have you experienced that joy in his presence today?
- Jesus also says that in his absence, his followers will fast. How is your fasting help you to hunger for God this Lent?
- What do you think the point of the story about patches and wineskins is?
- How does time make people inflexible?
- What part of your life needs to be stretched by God this Lenten season?
Prayer focus: Pray about yourself tonight. Pray that God will make you flexible and stretch you out in these important ways.
