Morning and Evening: Ash Wednesday, February 25
By pastorbuhro on Feb 25, 2009 in Morning and Evening
Morning Study:
Text: Psalm 32
Questions:
- How does David describe the way he felt when, instead of confessing his sins, he tried to pretend that everything was ok?
- How does he feel now that he has “come clean” with God?
- Read verse 9. What do you think David means when he warns us not to be like the horse or mule who have to be controlled by the bit and bridle?
- What is God trying to say to you today?
Prayer Focus: Pray that God will give you and your fellow pilgrims a teachable Spirit for this series.
Evening Study:
Text: Jonah 3:1-10
Questions:
- -How does the Bible describe the people of Nineveh and their response to Jonah’s preaching?
- What did the King of Nineveh do when he heard Jonah’s message?
- What did God do as a result?
- The King ordered that everyone, including the livestock, fast. And everyone was commanded to pray. How could being a part of a community of repentance help you draw closer to God?
Prayer Focus: Join us today that God will create a community of repentance within our youth group - that we would no longer stubbornly pretend everything is okay, but humbly come clean with God.
