Morning Study:

Text: Psalm 89:1-18

Questions:

1. What did Ethan say that he will declare in verse 2?  How does that declaration encourage you?
2. In what ways has God established his faithfulness in the heavens?
3. How is God’s reign established in justice and righteousness (v 14)?
4. What do you think Ethan means when he says that our shield belongs to the Lord (v 18)?

Prayer Focus: I hope this doesn’t sound selfish, but Pastor Phil and I are attending a conference at Olivet the next couple days.  Would you pray that God would speak to us through these special sessions?

Evening Study:

Evening: Romans 7:1-12

Questions:

1. When does Paul say we are released from our obligation to the Law?  Why does Paul say we have died, through Jesus, to the Law?
2. How does Paul say we now serve God?  How do you think that is different from the old way of the written code?
3. Paul says God’s law serves to open our eyes to the reality of sin.  What does the law point out in your life that needs changing?
4. How does the knowledge that something is forbidden create the desire to do that thing?  Why do you think humans react to something forbidden like that?

Prayer focus: Pray for those who are wrapping up their High School careers this semester.  Pray that God would help our Seniors to finish this school year strong and would provide them direction for the next steps in their life.
