What is the Cove?

The Cove Youth Center

The Cove Youth Center is home to Water's Edge youth ministries. It is an incredible facility dedicated to the youth of our community and made possible by donations in memory of Chris Twibell, a very special young man who once called our church his spiritual home. Located off the rear parking lot of the Middletown Church of the Nazarene the Cove contains a worship center, snack bar, game rooms and computer lab.

Our video game room features both XBox 360 and Wii game consoles complete with the latest in video games. Our "real life" game room includes pool, ping pong, air hockey, foosball and a mini basketball hoop.

Our computer lab was made possible by donations in honor of Jeremy Rodecap, a volunteer EMT and one of our youth ministry's volunteers whose life was tragically ended by an accident while responding to an EMS call in our town. The computer lab features five fast Windows Vista machines with high speed internet access and a free wireless hotspot. Use one of our computers, or bring your laptop, the Cove is ready for your computing needs. And if you need help with your homework, chances are our adult volunteers would be happy to give you some help.

The Cove also features a full service snack bar, fully stocked with everything your sweet tooth could desire. A wide range of drinks, candy and snack foods are available at reasonable prices. And who knows, come to one of our worship services and you may even win free food.

We make all of this available to the youth of our community every week. On almost every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday that the Shenandoah school corporation is in session, the Cove is open for students in grades 6-12 from 3:30 to 6:30 pm. Admission is completely free. We're here for you! Of course, remember, if Shenandoah is on vacation or closed due to inclement weather the Cove will not be open.
