What is Water’s Edge?

Water’s Edge is the name of the youth ministries of the Middletown Church of the Nazarene. We chose the name for a variety of reasons. The water’s edge is a place of refreshment, a place for fun, a place for friends, a place for adventure. It is the beginning of something much bigger, and it might just sweep you away. For all these reasons we chose to call what we do the Water’s Edge. Our ministry offers many different services and events to students in grades 6-12 in Middletown, Indiana and the surrounding areas. From midweek worship services, to small group Bible studies, to after-game Locker Rooms, to short term mission trips and spiritual formation retreats, Water’s Edge offers them all.

What is the Water’s Edge worship service?

Water’s Edge is not only the name of our youth ministries as a whole, it is also the name of our mid-week worship service for students in grades 9-12. Every Tuesday night Senior High youth gather at the Cove youth center to spend time with friends, eat food from our snack bar, play in our game rooms or gym, and to attend an energetic, high tech worship service. The Water’s Edge worship service features a live worship band and relevant teaching which applies Biblical truths to everyday life. The youth center opens at 3:30 every Tuesday and students can come any time to hang out with friends. The Water’s Edge worship service begins at 8:00 pm and dismisss at 9:15. The Youth Center also closes at this time.

What about Junior Highers?

Not in grades 9-12 yet? Don’t worry. There’s something for you. The Shore is the name of our mid-week worship service for students in grades 6-8. Like Water’s Edge, the Shore features energetic worship led by a live band and Biblical teaching aimed at the issues facing today’s middle schoolers. The shore meets on Tuesday nights. The service begins at 6:30 pm and dismisses at 7:45. Students can hang out in our youth center both before and after the Shore worship service.

What about Elementary age students?

If you’re not yet in grade 6, then Water’s Edge isn’t for you. We offer ministries to students in grades 6-12. But that doesn’t mean that there isn’t anything for you. Imagine Ministries, our church’s ministry to children from birth through grade 5 has something designed just for you!
